Every day, I’m seeing more and more homes listed with the northwest multiple listing service that are “short sales” ie. the homeowner owes more than what the home is worth, but has not yet started the foreclosure process. Even if you are not planning to sell in the near future, it is a good idea to occasionally get  a price analysis done on your home. It’s always good to know how much equity you have in case you need to get  a line of equity, refinance, know what your estate is worth or are planning to divorce.

Do’s and Dont’s for Fending off Foreclosure – Even after your lender sends a default letter, there are still ways to keep your house. There are also ways to make the situation worse, warns the Bankruptcy Adviser.
